The New School's Department of Media Studies and Film invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in digital pedagogy and online education. The Media Studies Program enrolls more than 500 students from 30 countries, and offers a curriculum in media theory, history, and criticism, film studies, media management, and audio, video, film, and digital media production. The curriculum consists of on-site and online classes and the M.A. degree can be completed entirely online.

We seek diverse candidates with a record of research and teaching excellence in media education, online learning platforms, and networked collaboration, with expertise in a broad range of media pedagogy and practices (distance learning, streaming media, immersive online environments, mobile devices, etc.).

The successful candidate will teach a range of courses in media education and pedagogy, coordinate the program's online curriculum, and advance the delivery of a rich multimedia learning experience across a broad range of media environments and platforms. Further responsibilities include student advising and appropriate service on departmental, divisional, and university committees.

Requirements:

A terminal degree in a media related field (Ph.D. preferred) or M.A. and equivalent experience is required.
