The Science and Technology Studies (STS) Programme, St. Thomas University, invites applications for an entry-level, tenure-track appointment, at the rank of assistant professor, to begin July 1, 2011, pending budgetary approval.

Celebrating its centenary in 2010, St. Thomas University is an undergraduate, liberal arts institution whose roots are in the faith and tradition of the Roman Catholic Church. With an enrolment of 2,400, its students graduate with Bachelor of Arts, Applied Arts, Education, and Social Work degrees. The faculty members are distinguished teachers, researchers and scholars, and the university holds three Canada Research Chairs.

A PhD or imminent completion in science studies, history and/or philosophy of science and technology, or sociology of science is required. The preferred candidate will have a publication record in one or more of the following areas: sociological, philosophical, or policy/political aspects of science and technology. Area of research in STS is open. In addition, preferred candidates will have a record of teaching excellence.
