Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications Department of Strategic Communication is currently accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-eligible Assistant/Associate Professor position, beginning August 16, 2011. We seek a dynamic, student-focused individual committed to teaching and scholarship. The candidate should have strong commitment to and be capable of teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in several of the following areas: interaction design, social media tools and techniques, web design and development, graphic design, usability, locative media, and information design as they apply to strategic communication, integrated marketing communications, public relations, corporate communication, and workplace training and performance. Opportunity exists to design and develop new courses in these and other related areas.
The candidate should be able to collaborate with others to create a first-rate environment for student learning and an engaging environment for scholarly endeavors. Additional responsibilities include serving on departmental, school, and college committees, advising students, and engaging in appropriate scholarly and professional activities.
Successful candidates will also demonstrate an ability to teach in ways that value the varied learning needs and interests of a culturally diverse student population, and that reflect a commitment to encouraging the success of all students. We also seek candidates who have relevant experience and/or a record of professional engagement with groups and communities underrepresented in the academy. Candidates from underrepresented groups whose exclusion from the academy has been longstanding are strongly encouraged to apply.

MFA with demonstrated knowledge of current technology as it applies to Strategic Communication is acceptable. Degrees and experience in computer science, human computer interaction, instructional technology, interaction design, information design, and other related areas are encouraged to apply.
