Appalachian State University's Department of Communication seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor in Electronic Media/Emerging Media, beginning August 2011. A terminal in communication or mass communication is preferred, and the terminal degree is required for tenure-track appointment. ABD will be considered. Professional experience is preferred. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will teach in the undergraduate Electronic Media/Journalism curriculum with a focus on video production, and may serve as executive producer for the university's once-a-month Chancellor's program syndicated around the state. Teaching responsibilities may include teaching off-campus courses. Other responsibilities include teaching, advising students, maintaining a program of scholarly and/or creative activity, and participating in departmental, university, and professional service.
