Assistant Professor – New Media
The Television-Radio Department at Ithaca College is seeking applicants who will bring scholarly and, ideally, professional experience in new media to our growing program. Successful candidates will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: new and emerging media economics, programming and marketing in the new media environment, entrepreneurial business/management practices in the new media environment, new and emerging media technologies, and/or new media industries.
Ph.D. in communications or related field strongly preferred. ABD candidates or other terminal professional degrees (e.g. J.D. or M.B.A.) coupled with extensive relevant experience in new media may be considered.
The successful candidate will teach in her/his area of expertise and as well as courses across the department curriculum where qualified to do so. The candidate may also have primary responsibility for the introductory course in the Television-Radio degree program.
Candidates must demonstrate potential for the kind of scholarly and/or professional work expected as part of a tenure-eligible position. Successful teaching experience at the college level is required.
