> THE DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARY & INFORMATION SCIENCE seeks faculty candidates who focus on research and teaching across disciplinary boundaries. Rutgers LIS faculty members are defining an evolving field in an interdisciplinary environment, close to the world's largest media and information centers. Areas of particular interest to the department include (but are not limited to): Interaction with information at individual, social, and cultural levels; Information access in digital environments; Human computer interaction; Children, information, schools, and libraries.

The applicant’s program of research should complement the research foci of current faculty. Senior level applicants should provide integrative leadership in research, instruction, and external funding. Duties of the successful candidate include departmental, school, and university assignments in teaching, scholarship, and service, consistent with university and school policy for tenure-track appointments.
