Position/Job Summary Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications Department of Television-Radio (TV-R) is accepting applications for a tenure-eligible position to begin August 16, 2010. We are seeking candidates who have scholarly and, ideally, professional expertise in one or more of the following areas: new and emerging media technologies, media industries, or media management. The successful candidate will teach in her/his area of expertise as well as courses across the department curriculum where qualified to do so. The candidate may also have primary responsibility for teaching the introductory survey course in the Television-Radio degree program.
This position offers the opportunity to be part of one of the strongest undergraduate communication programs in the country. The ideal candidate will be equipped to create an environment that encourages student learning, will have a demonstrated record of professional accomplishment, and will bring additional visibility to the department, both within the college and nationally. The candidate will serve as academic advisor to students and on department, school, and college committees. There is an expectation of peer-reviewed professional activity in the form of scholarly publication or juried creative work for tenure-eligible faculty in the Department of Television-Radio.
Position Responsibilities
Position/Job Qualifications Ph.D. in communication or related field required; ABD candidates who are near completion of the dissertation may be considered. Successful teaching experience is required and a commitment to a liberal arts education within a professional program is expected.
