enure-Track Assistant Professor of Media Informatics Northern Kentucky University seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor position in Media Informatics to begin in August 2011. The successful candidate will bring new ideas and energy to our award-winning and dynamic Department of Communication in the area of new media and the convergence of technology and humanity. Our department, college and university are experiencing tremendous growth and opportunity and we are excited to move into our new state-of-the-art facility, Griffin Hall, in fall 2011. Specialization may come from one of many aspects to the fast-changing world of new media, but the successful candidate will foremost be a teacher-scholar in Media Informatics. Potential specialization areas include theoretical mastery and acclaimed technical and creative performance in mobile design and/or programming, website design and/or programming, interactive 2D or 3D media design and animation, computer-mediated communication or other related fields documented through a creative digital portfolio. The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses and the occasional graduate course, conduct an active research and/or creative program and engage our students and region. As such, each candidate should be able to demonstrate teaching effectiveness, scholarship, and service. Master’s in media, communication or other field related to Media Informatics required, MFA or Ph.D. in a related media field preferred.
