√Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Colleges, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Media Studies with an emphasis in Urban Studies for an appointment beginning Fall 2011. Applicants should have teaching and research interests that link Media Studies with the Social Sciences, including experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods, as well as community based research and learning. We are particularly interested in candidates who perform global and local comparative analysis of community-based media based in Africa, India, or the Middle East, and their transnational visual cultures. Experience in teaching media production courses is desirable. Applicants should have a Ph.D. by the time of appointment.
