The Department of Communication Studies invites applications for a tenure track position in Political Economy and Critical Media/Cultural Policy at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2010. This position is subject to budgetary approval. Within this subject area, we are particularly interested in candidates whose areas of scholarly expertise and teaching experience include at least one of the following:
1) Sound studies;
2) Global communication and global/transnational media cultures;
3) Media, spatialities and temporalities.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach CS 350-Political Economy of Communication and either CS 235- Communication Research Methods or CS 310-Globalization and Communication. The successful candidate will also be able to develop new courses at the undergraduate level and contribute to our growing graduate programming terms of teaching and supervision. Experience in teaching at the MA and PhD programs is preferred.
Applicants must have a completed PhD in Communication Studies or a cognate discipline by the time of the appointment.
