FACULTY OF LIBERAL STUDIES
CONTRACTUALLY LIMITED TERM APPOINTMENT (CLTA)
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, NEW MEDIA CRITICISM AND HISTORY
The Faculty of Liberal Studies invites applications for a full-time limited-term (1-3 years) contract position at the rank of Assistant Professor in New Media Criticism and History. Candidates are expected to have a research program and experience teaching in the area of New Media History and Theory/Criticism. Professional production experience or academic research in the area of multi-media art & design (e.g. film, video, digital media) would be an asset. This position is to commence with the 2010/11 academic year, and is subject to budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach at all undergraduate levels, to maintain an active research profile, to contribute to the ongoing development of the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, and to participate in Faculty and university-wide governance systems, as well as other activities that contribute to the academic life of OCAD.
Candidates are expected to have a completed PhD in Media Studies or a related field, or an MFA in multi-media, or degree equivalent; a strong record of research, scholarship and publication and/or exemplary professional experience in media production or media arts; evidence of positive post-secondary teaching experience; and an aptitude for innovative curriculum development in a degree-granting art and design institution.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications with access to full benefits and pension contribution after one year of service.
