The Department of Communication at Indiana University Purdue  
University Fort Wayne (IPFW) seeks a broadly trained tenure track  
assistant professor to teach undergraduate and, possibly, graduate  
courses in digital media, convergent journalism, and/or traditional  
journalism beginning August, 2010.  This person will also help to  
develop and direct a new media practices program (i.e., backpack  
journalism possibly integrated with present media production and  
studies). All research and creative endeavor approaches are welcome  
including empirical, interpretive, critical, historical and /or  
rhetorical approaches.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a  
commitment to and expertise in teaching and research/creative endeavor  
and will hold a PhD or other terminal degree in Journalism,  
Communication or a cognate discipline.  Professional experience is  
desirable.

master's programs and a collegial and professionally active faculty.
