The School of Public Affairs at Baruch College, CUNY, invites applications for the position of assistant or associate professor in Communication. The appointment will be tenure-track and will begin in the fall of 2010.  The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in Communication or a related field and an established research program in some area relevant to Public Affairs, such as political communication, public relations, organizational communication, healthcare communication, intercultural communication, mass media policy and regulation, persuasion, new media or rhetorical analysis of public discourse or social movements.  Special consideration will be given to applicants with research programs that emphasize urban issues, or issues in non-profit or public administration.  In addition, candidates should have experience teaching written and oral communication and advocacy, and be prepared to teach a Master's level class that emphasizes these skills.  A generous course release is provided to all new faculty members.
