Successful applicants for each of these positions will be expected to

fields: digital libraries, web technologies, interface design,
usability studies, library systems, social software, open source
technologies, information systems, information technology management,
and/or information architecture.

The Faculty of Information and Media Studies is a vibrant, expanding,
interdisciplinary Faculty comprised of some 51 full-time faculty
members and 22 non-academic staff. It currently offers an
undergraduate program in Media, Information and Technoculture (MIT)
with an enrolment of more than 1,000 students, as well as an MA in
Journalism, a Master's and doctoral program in Library and
Information Science, and an MA and PhD in Media Studies. The
enrolment in the MLIS program is approximately 260 students,
including part-time students; current enrolment in the LIS PhD
program is 23. Information about the Faculty and descriptions of its
courses are available at http://www.fims.uwo.ca. The Faculty of
Information and Media Studies is one of twelve Faculties in The
University of Western Ontario, a research intensive University of
27,000 full-time equivalent students.

Interested candidates are invited to send their curriculum vitae,
sample publications, names and addresses of three references, and a
cover letter outlining their interest in the position by January 15,
2008 to: Dr. Thomas Carmichael, Dean, Faculty of Information and
