Job Description Assistant Director of Academic Technology
Office of Academic Development and Programming
Parsons the New School for Design is seeking an Assistant Director of
Academic Technology Reporting to the Director of Administration the
Assistant Director of Academic Technology manages the implementation
and maintenance of technologies impacting pedagogy and curriculum and
assists in technology training for faculty and staff.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Act as a technical liaison between the central IT office and the
division.
- Coordinate the updating and maintenance of internal websites
- Supervise students in the management of faculty technical resources
- Assist in planning and specifying equipment purchases
- Implement training programs, orientations and workshops for faculty
and students.
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance internal websites.
- Act as a representative of the division on University committees
- Performs additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements:
Qualified candidates will possess:
- Bachelors degree required, MFA preferred.
- Experience working in information technology and in an academic
environment
- Ability to multi-task and to work in a fast paced collaborative
environment.
- Excellent professional manner and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with website support and academic technology
- Resourcefulness and problem solving skills
- Good organizational skills
- An interest and/or background in art and design a plus
