ssociate Director, Teaching and Learning Services
Brown University is seeking a talented and energetic leader for its
Teaching and Learning services group within the Department of
Computing and Information Services. The Associate Director guides the
program supporting faculty in their use of technology for instruction
and supervises three groups: Instructional Technology Group (ITG),
Student Technology Assistant program (STA), and Multimedia Labs
(MML). Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, this position has
responsibility for short-term direction and strategic planning,
personnel management, and financial oversight of the department. The
successful candidate will be a strong advocate for faculty services
within CIS.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience. An
advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum 5-10 years experience delivering IT services including 3
years as a supervisor. Higher education environment preferred.
• Experience planning and implementing instructional support services
and multimedia facilities.
• Understanding of today's learner and the roles for technology for
instruction.
• Technical knowledge at the sophisticated user level of PC and Mac
hardware, operating systems, applications, and network services in
use at Brown.
• Advanced knowledge of instructional technology tools including
course management systems. Blackboard Learning System CE (WebCT CE)
experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and present complex issues.
• Excellent project management, problem solving, interpersonal, and
team building skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet organizational goals.
• Experience with teaching and/or presenting to audiences. Curriculum
development experience a plus.
• Budgeting and financial management experience.
• Excellent written and oral communications. A strong desire and
ability for collaboration.
