Director of Instructional Technology
Assists faculty members in the evaluation of information technology
applications; instructs faculty in the use of instructional
technology and provides ongoing support; identifies new and
innovative technologies and applications; oversees the design and
support of technologically-enhanced classrooms; confers with the
Director of User Services regarding the design of computer labs and
the software installed there; collaborates with faculty, the
Libraries and other groups on the development of strategies and goals
in the instructional technology arena; develops grant proposals both
individually and in collaboration with faculty and staff; is
responsible for courseware management (Moodle); oversees support for
student use of relevant technologies; manages the professional and
student staff of the Office of Instructional Technology; serves as
institutional liaison to NITLE and similar groups; explores
opportunities for collaboration with other institutions. This
position reports to the Chief Information Technology Officer.
Advanced degree highly desired, exceptional candidates with
bachelor's degree will be considered. The position requires
significant experience supporting instructional technology; ability
to critically evaluate information technology applications and their
use in the classroom; a strong background in a wide range of
information technologies; excellent verbal and written communication
skills; the ability to communicate effectively with individuals with
varying levels of technical expertise; ability to build and sustain
collaborative relationships with a wide range of constituents on campus.
