Faculty Openings Fall 2008
The following are anticipated faculty openings for fall 2008 (tenure-
track unless otherwise noted). Read more about Wheaton College and

Applied Health Science: Associate Professor or Professor with
expertise in the areas of exercise physiology/biochemistry and /or
cardiovascular physiology.
Applied Health Science: Epidemiology - expertise in chronic diseases
and physical activity epidemiology required; expertise in Urban
Public Health desirable.
Biblical and Theological Studies: Three open rank positions with
teaching competence in at least one of the following areas:
systematic theology, historical theology, or church history.
Candidates with primary expertise in church history must be able to
teach also in historical theology.
Art and Communication: Assistant Professor in New Media focusing on
the practice and discourse of digital film-making, video, and web-
based new media constructions.
Communication: Assistant Professor focused in media studies with
teaching expertise in media ecology, media effects, digital society,
media production and/or media systems. Could also include a basic
speech course. English: Assistant Professor with expertise in one of
two areas: World Literatures in English with expertise in Anglophone
African, Indian, or Caribbean literature (or in some combination of
these). Creative Writing with expertise in poetry.
Politics and International Relations: Open rank position to teach
introductory class in political theory and upper division courses in
area of specialization.
Psychology: Assistant or Associate Professor to teach undergraduate
courses in abnormal psychology, clinical psychology, and team-teach
introductory psychology.
Physics: Assistant Professor with preferred expertise in astronomy or
biophysics.
