The Visual Communication Technology faculty team at BGSU is actively
searching for an individual to complement their teaching, curriculum,
and research efforts. We are interested in a faculty committed to
collaborative research and teaching in the application of emerging
visual media technologies. As a member of VCT's growing cross media
program (currently over 400 majors), this visionary individual should
possess the ability to analyze communication problems, conceptualize
ideas, create effective solutions, and practice appropriate
evaluation. The successful candidate must demonstrate media
competency and have expertise in at least two of the following areas:
digital photography, print, video, audio, exhibitry, design,
interactive media, 3-D modeling, gaming.
Responsibilities: A part of the VCT team, the individual will be
expected to:
--Teach appropriate VCT courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.
--Develop a research agenda.
--Disseminate research through scholarly publications.
--Advise undergraduate and/or graduate students.
--Plan and implement cutting-edge laboratory facilities.
--Utilize distance education technology to deliver courses off campus.
--Participate in national and international industry and educational
associations' conferences.
--Serve on department, college and university committees.
--Foster collaborative partnerships with business, industry and
government.
Qualifications: Applicants should have proven ability or potential to
initiate and conduct research and to be an effective teacher.
Potential for leadership through involvement with professional
associations will be important.
--Doctorate plus significant university and industrial experience
preferred or doctoral
equivalency considered (see www.bgsu.edu/colleges/technology for
equivalency statement).

transcripts (unofficial is accepted at this time), a list of five
references plus letters of recommendation from three of those

projects.
