Communication: Marist College. Faculty positions in Communication.  
The School of Communication and the Arts at Marist College invites  
applications for faculty positions in Communication to begin in  
September 2007. Positions are available in the areas of Journalism,  
Gaming and Interactive Media, Advertising Management, Broadcast  
Writing / Production, and Sports Communication. The School of  
Communication and the Arts blends professional development with a  
strong liberal arts foundation. In order to provide our students with  
a balance of these approaches, the School is recruiting from academic  
and professional areas. Qualifications for tenure-track faculty are a  
terminal degree appropriate to the candidate's specific area of  
expertise. ABDs will be considered. For annually renewable, non  
tenure-track appointments, applications from candidates with master's  
degrees and significant professional experience are encouraged. The  
Department of Communication and the Department of Media Arts offer a  
B.A. degree in Communication that has concentrations in Advertising,  
Communication Studies, Gaming and Interactive Media, Journalism,  
Public Relations/Organizational Communication, Radio-TV-Film, and  
Sports Communication. The Department of Communication offers an M.A.  
degree in Communication that is available in an online format. The  
Departments support over 850 full-time undergraduate majors and 70  
graduate students. The Department of Communication and the Department  
of Media Arts sponsor numerous internship experiences for their  
majors and place many interns with leading firms and organizations in  
New York City. In addition, there is a growing interest in  
undergraduate research, with Marist students presenting at  
conferences, attending graduate school, and winning graduate  
assistantships and prestigious scholarships. Faculty responsibilities  
include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, participating in  
student advisement, engaging in scholarly/professional activity, and  
providing institutional and professional service. Marist College is a  
nationally recognized, comprehensive, independent, liberal arts  
institution known for its excellence in teaching and for its use of  
information technology. It is located in Poughkeepsie, New York on  
the banks of the historic Hudson River, 75 miles north of New York  
City. The College enrolls 4,400 full-time undergraduate, 530 part-
