Job Description
Director, Curriculum Innovation and Technology: Provides strategic
and operational leadership to the members of the CITG and College
community; as member of the Academic Council, works with Program
Deans, President's Council Members, Faculty, Staff, and external
constituencies to develop, implement and promote a vision and
tactical operation for curriculum innovation at the College.
Specifically responsible for leading the Curriculum Innovation and
Technology Group and provide coaching and mentoring to direct
reports; Leads the Working Professional Graduate School initiative
(the redesign, launch, and expansion of the College's blended MBA
program); Communicates, markets, and creates awareness of the Group's
role and capabilities to Faculty and Program Deans and external
constituencies; Develops and leads a curriculum innovation advisory
board; Promotes the College's innovations through publications,
presentations, association memberships, and general outreach; Leads
the College community in the creation and adoption of a repeatable
process that moves from experimentation through prototyping and into
production for innovative methodologies and techniques; Investigates
emerging learning theories and methodologies and evaluate their
application to the College curriculum; Investigates and develop best
practices in the use of learning theories in the design and
development of world-class learning experiences; Partners with
faculty in learning and optimizing the use of existing learning
theories and in the researching, testing, and application of new
learning theories. Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in a
relevant field plus an MBA and 7-10 years of experience in
technology, distance learning, instructional design, content
development, and/or education. Supervises entire CITG Group.

Job Summary:
The Director of the Curriculum Innovation and Technology Group (CITG)
provides strategic and operational leadership to the members of the
CITG and Babson College community. The Director works with the Deans
of the Undergraduate, Graduate, and Executive Education Programs,
other President's Council Members, Faculty, Staff, and external
constituencies to develop, implement, and promote a vision and
tactical operation for curriculum innovation at Babson.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Lead the Curriculum Innovation and Technology Group. Provide
coaching and mentoring to direct reports; develop team capabilities.
• Lead the Babson community in the creation and adoption of a
repeatable process that moves from experimentation through
prototyping and into production for innovative methodologies and
techniques.
• Investigate emerging learning theories and methodologies and
evaluate their application to the College curriculum.
• Communicate, market, and create awareness of the Group's role and
capabilities to Faculty and Program Deans and external constituencies.
o Provide curriculum innovation updates to the Babson community.
o Create and maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships
with all members and constituencies within the greater Babson community.
o Promote Babson innovations through publications, presentations,
association memberships, and general outreach.
• Develop and Lead a curriculum innovation advisory board.
• Participates in the leadership team of the graduate school's
working professionals initiative
• Investigate and develop best practices in the use of learning
theories in the design and development of world-class learning
experiences.
• Partner with faculty in learning and optimizing the use of existing
learning theories and in the researching, testing, and application of
new learning theories.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Babson ITSD
team to ensure a cohesive approach to technology at Babson.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Level of Education Required Bachelor's Degree in a relevant
field and an MBA
Minimum Level of Experience Required 7-10 years experience in
technology, distance learning, instructional design, content
development, and/or education.

Additional Required Skills and Abilities:
• Current or prior teaching experience in an institution of higher
education (preferably in business education). A superior
understanding of technology and its application in higher education.
• Must possess the ability to develop and implement a shared vision
for team success
• Must be able to develop and implement operational processes that
align to the overall vision
• Must possess superior written and oral communication skills and
excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must possess
strong analytical, relationship management, and project management
skills.
• Needs to work successfully with limited supervision. Must be a self-
starter, a problem-solver, and be able to successfully manage
multiple tasks.
• Must be flexible and be able to work with a diverse team.
• Must possess an entrepreneurial attitude and a strong desire to be
part of a world-class organization.
• Must be able to work with individuals who have a wide range of
technical expertise.
