Associate Director, Program Team
NITLE, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing liberal  
education through the innovative and effective uses of digital  
technology, seeks an associate director for its program team.

The associate director will be a key member of the team responsible  
for developing, planning, and ensuring the quality of NITLE's  
professional development programs and collaborative projects. He or  
she will directly manage NITLE's Workshops-to-Go program. He or she  
will have direct responsibility for program development in two to  
three of the following areas: new media, emerging technologies for  
teaching and learning, approaches to computational science in the  
undergraduate curriculum, professional development support for  
instructional technologists, or language teaching technology.

The associate director will, for example:

Track programs and projects from planning through implementation,  
assessment, and follow-up to assure event/project quality and  
participant satisfaction
Take primary program development responsibility for several specific  
programs
Work with other NITLE staff and program presenters, leaders, or  
facilitators to coordinate the instructional content of events and  
workshops; ensure the appropriate online presentation of content  
related to or resulting from events and workshops on NITLE's website
With the director, provide guidance and supervision to ensure that  
each team member is achieving the desired results in his or her programs
Foster relationships with campus liaisons and other campus staff:  
this may include work with planning groups for NITLE programs
Represent NITLE externally at professional conferences and meetings;  
make presentations and write articles as appropriate
The successful candidate will have:

Experience as an educator, evidenced by successful performance in an  
instructional role, preferably in higher education
Demonstrated success in a technology support, instructional support,  
or librarian role, or as an adept user of technology in his or her  
own professional practice
Experience as a leader, managing or coordinating the work of others
Strong aptitude and inclination for teamwork and collaboration,  
including the ability to provide leadership within a virtual team  
(NITLE program staff are located in a variety of sites nationwide)  
via communications media including online videoconferencing
Strong ability to prioritize and multitask
Willingness to travel nationally (up to 1/5 time)
Positive attitude, flexibility, adaptability, initiative,  
resourcefulness, and a sense of humor
Graduate training in a liberal arts field, or in higher education,  
teaching and learning, instructional technology, or a related area
At least five years full time professional experience
Experience or expertise in either the theory and practice of pedagogy  
or in international education and language pedagogy is highly desirable
