Technology opportunity with our office located in the Toms River, NJ

ABOUT THIS POSITION
The SunGard Program Development Specialist has day-to-day leadership
responsibility for program development and support of online Programs
and core course redesign.
The strategic responsibilities of the Director of Learning Technology
include the following:
•Organize the program development resources in a manner that is
responsive to the College's needs. Provide leadership to and
management of the professionals, including hiring, training, managing
and establishing project priorities.
•Serve as an instructional technology advocate by promoting the use
and support of innovative technologies when technology can contribute
to the realization of institutional goals and initiatives, and
address relevant industry issues and make recommendations to
implement technology changes when appropriate.
•Facilitate the creation and implementation of plans, policies,
processes and strategies for online program development to meet
institutional goals and an effective return on investment.
•Define and document internal procedures, College and corporate
status reporting.
•Coordinate the implementation of instructional technology training
courses and/or workshops for faculty seeking to integrate technology
into their teaching using SunGard Academic Development Services
training methodologies.
•Create, implement, and maintain plans and processes for strategies
to support the development of unique courses and programs.
Manage onsite activity directed at program or course development.
•Coordinate and manage College technology support resources such as
faculty resources and staff, as well as student resources, where
appropriate.
•Serve as liaison to corporate resources on working strategies for
program/course development, marketing and sales management, and
customer and delivery support, and coordinate the use of corporate
resources as appropriate per the institution's agreement.
•Maintain knowledge of emerging trends in online learning.
The Director of Learning Technology will provide onsite Instructional
Support services to focus on the promotion of more effective use of
learning technologies through the use of the following tactical
activities:
•Designing and developing online, classroom-based or web-enhanced
programs and courses using instructional technology tools and the
instructional design process.
•Communicating goals, methods, and outcomes of design and redesign
projects to faculty to help increase faculty awareness and enthusiasm
for redesign efforts at the College.
•Working with faculty representatives to drive program/curriculum
design and/or redesign.
•Advising faculty representatives on the potential content and
delivery model for individual courses.
•Providing pedagogy design and redesign consultation, advice and
expertise.
•Coordinating course development resources and projects.
•Providing consultations for faculty involved in online course
development.
•Facilitating the development and delivery of mid-course, end-of-
course, and end-of-program evaluations.
•Aid in publicizing examples of successful faculty redesigns efforts
to increase campus wide faculty support.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
A Masters degree and at least three years of successful experience
working in higher education supporting faculty to use learning
technologies is required. At least two years of online course
development and/or online teaching experience in any subject matter
is required. Experience in developing an entire online program from
conception through delivery is highly desirable. Classroom or online
teaching and/or training experience is preferred. Doctorate in
Education, Instructional Technology or Design, or related field is
also preferred. Customer Service experience in Higher Education is
preferred.
