Assistant Professor - Communication (2 Positions)
Western Connecticut State University seeks two tenure-track Assistant
Professors of Communication to teach basic courses in interpersonal
communication and advanced courses in relational communication and/or
media studies. The Communication program endeavors to provide a
thorough, modern education in communication skills and theory that is
tailored to the individual student's background and career
objectives. WCSU is a dynamic, diverse workplace and the ability to
work with students, faculty and staff from various backgrounds and
cultures is highly valued.
Qualifications: Ability to teach at all levels of undergraduate study
required. Familiarity with fundamentals of communication study,
theory and research methods is expected, as well as some depth in
either interpersonal/group communication or mediated communication
and media studies, or some combination of these areas. Demonstrated
teaching excellence a must. Scholarship level appropriate to your
experience expected. A willingness and ability to perform university
service and assist in departmental administration preferred. PhD in
Communication, Media, or highly related field required, but we will
consider ABD near completion.
