The School of Information Resources and Library Science at the  
University of Arizona is recruiting for an Assistant Professor in the  
area of information technologies. The position is an academic year,  
tenure track position, beginning in the fall 2007 or spring 2008.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and expertise in an area  
of information technologies, such as database development and  
management, communication networking, digital libraries, web  
development and design, managing digital collections, knowledge  
management or other technology-related area.

Relationships with other academic units and faculty and with  
professional communities are encouraged and expected. The department  
is seeking an individual who is able to work with diverse students  
and colleagues and who has experience with a variety of teaching  
methods and curricular perspectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Earned PhD. in Library and Information Science or relevant field
Demonstrated research and publication record or potential
Demonstrated technological expertise
Documented evidence of teaching ability
Commitment to the education of library and information professionals  
in the 21st Century.
Ability to teach technology-oriented courses
Ability to teach introductory courses in one or more of our core or  
distribution areas
