Polytechnic University is the nation’s second oldest private,  
technological university, whose graduates and faculty have been  
changing the world for the past 150 years.

Administration: the successful candidate will lead Polytechnic  
University’s Integrated Digital Media Institute, and manage its  
research and education programs, with particular focus on the MS in  
Integrated Digital Media, working closely with the undergraduate  
coordinator to ensure continuity and overall balance in the  
curriculum and teaching faculty. This is to include the management of  
current facilities, and the planning of new ones as resources become  
available.

Teaching and student advising in both its aspects: administrative- 
academic, and assistance in identifying personal strengths and  
optimal career paths. Experience with students from diverse  
backgrounds. Demonstrated excellence teaching in media laboratory  
settings

Research: the director will undertake a program of research and/or  
digital media production, with particular emphasis on collaboration  
with research faculty and graduate students in other areas of  
Polytechnic University. Area of specialization is open, but the  
candidate should have the ability to supervise work in a broad  
variety of areas.

Outreach: working closely with the university’s administration, the  
IDMI director will participate actively in the promotion of IDMI as  
an initiative of New York’s premier technological university, and a  
bridge between the technological and cultural dimensions of digital  
media communications. Where appropriate, IDMI activities are to be  
promoted through public programs offered on the Brooklyn campus.

Recruitment: in collaboration with the Admissions staff, the IDMI  
director will actively work to raise enrollments as well as the level  
of applicants admitted to the graduate and undergraduate programs.

Education & Experience:

Terminal degree in a relevant field.

Teaching /curriculum development at the graduate and undergraduate  
levels

Academic administrative experience, especially interdisciplinary.

Experience developing, maintaining and running digital media  
laboratories.

A record of recognized work in the field.
