The University of Richmond invites applicants for the position of
Director for Teaching, Learning and Technology. This position reports
to the vice president for information services and works closely with
the deans and academic administration. The director is a key member
of the Information Services management team, providing vision and
leadership in the development and delivery of strategic educational
resources.

The director serves as the senior administrator for the Center for
Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT) at the University of
Richmond. The Center is a resource for faculty, students, and staff.
It serves as a focal point for the examination and discussion of
pedagogy and the effective use of technology in teaching and
learning. The director works with staff and administration to design
and implement programs and resources for faculty, departments and
schools. The CTLT will promote an understanding of teaching and
learning by assisting both individuals and groups of faculty as they
reflect and analyze information about teaching and how it impacts
student learning. The director will work with CTLT staff and others
to devise effective methods to build faculty awareness of what
technologies and tools are available to them at the University.

Within the CTLT, the director oversees the Academic Technology
Services (ATS) liaison group and the lab support team. The ATS
liaisons assist faculty with the design, development and delivery of
high-quality instruction. They provide direct consultation with
faculty on all aspects of instructional design, helping faculty to
determine the best pedagogical tools and techniques for use with
their students.
The lab support team manages all the equipment and software in
classrooms, labs, and other learning spaces on campus. They ensure
that faculty and students have access to the tools they need for
teaching, learning, and research in a reliable, stable, and secure
environment. This includes the ongoing maintenance and development of
equipment and software in the Technology Learning Center where
faculty may explore, experiment and receive expert assistance.
The Center staff will assist faculty with using new technologies,
exploring the pedagogical uses of specific technologies, and
identifying technologies that will have the potential to improve
teaching, learning and research. The director will work with CTLT
staff and others to devise effective methods to build faculty
awareness of what technologies and resources are available to them at
the University. The TLC also provides students with a multimedia
laboratory for classroom and research project development and
presentation.
