The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia is seeking  
applicants for an Associate for Academic Affairs. The successful  
candidate should possess an earned masters degree (doctorate  
preferred) from an accredited university, have experience in higher  
education policy and administration, and be considerably  
knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas: assessment of  
student learning; educational technology issues; university research  
policy; the interaction between state government and higher education.

The position requires demonstrable skills and abilities in  
conceptualization, research, and writing; excellent oral  
communication skills; willingness to travel, sometimes overnight, in  
the Commonwealth; and mastery of common computer applications for  
word processing, presentations, and data analysis (e.g., Word,  
PowerPoint, and Excel).
