Information Services, (IS) at the University of Oregon invites  
applications and nominations for the position of Director of Academic  
Technologies who reports directly to the Vice Provost for Information  
Services and Chief Information Officer.

Information Services is the central information technology unit for  
the institution, and supports systems and services in the areas of  
administrative applications, academic technologies, network services,  
and telecommunications. Information Services also includes the  
Advanced Network Technology Center as well as the Network Startup  
Resource Center. These units report to the Vice Provost for  
Information Services / CIO who in turn reports directly to the Senior  
Vice President and Provost of the institution.

The newly created position of Director of Academic Technologies will  
provide leadership, planning, implementation, coordination, and  
support of academic IT services for faculty and students. She/He will  
be responsible for implementing programs that encourage technology in  
instruction, learning, research and co-curricular student life which  
align with the information technology strategic plan for the campus.  
Critical in this endeavor will be the director's ability to work in a  
collaborative and collegial way with IT personnel in the colleges and  
Library, as well as with faculty and students across the institution.  
The Director will be responsible for staff of approximately 15  
employees and for fiscal planning and allocation associated with this  
unit.
