Applications are invited for a tenure-stream position at the rank of  
Assistant Professor in Higher Education System Policy and Reform at  
the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE/UT). The  
appointment will be made in the Department of Theory and Policy  
Studies in Education, which offers graduate programs in Higher  
Education, Educational Administration, and History and Philosophy of  
Education, as well as teacher education programs.
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications: a  
doctoral degree; a strong program of research and publication on  
system-level policy, science and research policy, the role of the  
professoriate, and organizational arrangements among post- secondary  
sectors; and the ability to make a strong contribution to teaching.  
The successful applicant, ideally, should have some experience in  
developing policy for higher education.
Responsibilities of the position include: conducting research;  
teaching graduate courses (some of which may be open to  
undergraduates); developing new graduate courses; and supervising  
graduate student research. Salary will be commensurate with  
qualifications and experience. The appointment will commence on July  
1, 2006.
